Russia Moscow International Machine Tool Exhibition (METALLOOBRABOTKA) is co-sponsored by the Russian Machine Tool Association and the Expocentre Exhibition Center, and is supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Federation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the European Machine Tool Industry Cooperation Association. The exhibition was held in 1984 and is held once a year. It is the largest and most influential machine tool professional exhibition in Russia.
With the deepening of economic exchanges between China and Russia in recent years, China has become Russia's largest trading partner, and the bilateral trade volume in 2021 will increase by 35.6% year-on-year.
In 2022, the net exhibition area of the exhibition is 24,881 square meters. A total of 604 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. The exhibition attracted 36,259 visitors to visit and negotiate.
Russia's predecessor, the Soviet Union, benefited from the rapid development of the machine tool manufacturing industry and became the world's second largest machine tool manufacturer after World War II. But today, Russia's machine tool industry mainly relies on imported supplies. As the tenth largest machine tool market in the world, the Russian machine tool import market increased by 23.01% in 2018, reaching US$1.359 billion. China is the second largest source of imports. In 2018, the import value was 190 million US dollars, an increase of 68.45% over 2017, accounting for 13.94% of imports.
