Turbocharged engines can greatly increase the power and torque of the engine without changing the engine displacement. Generally speaking, the power and torque of engines equipped with turbochargers will increase by 20%~30%. On the other hand, turbocharging can improve the fuel economy of cars.
However, turbocharging also has its disadvantages, which is the turbine hysteresis effect, because the turbine can only be started when the engine reaches a certain speed (about 2000 rpm), followed by increased noise and exhaust heat dissipation problems caused by turbocharging. In addition, the internal parts of turbocharged engines are often in a high temperature and high impact environment. Therefore, such engines have special requirements for oil, such as good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, fast establishment of lubricating oil film, high oil film strength, good stability and low viscosity.
