The taper sleeve is a new type of mechanical transmission connection component commonly used in Europe and the United States. It has the characteristics of high standardization, high precision, compact structure, and easy installation and disassembly.
The taper sleeve is connected with the inner taper surface of the pulley, sprocket and other transmission parts through an 8-degree outer taper surface, which greatly improves the centering accuracy of various transmission parts. The taper sleeve size is designed as a series standard. Its inner hole keyway is processed according to ISO standards. It has good versatility and interchangeability and is suitable for various occasions. When the transmission part is operated for a long time, the inner hole and chain groove may be damaged. If the transmission part uses this taper sleeve, when this happens, it can be restored to use by replacing the same specification of the taper sleeve. Therefore, the service life of the transmission part is greatly improved, the maintenance cost is reduced, and time is saved.
The taper sleeve is mainly divided into TB taper sleeve, QD taper sleeve and STB taper sleeve. The holes where the taper sleeve matches the pulley are half-sided, and the two light holes on the taper sleeve and the two threaded holes on the pulley form a complete hole respectively, and a threaded hole on the taper sleeve and a light hole on the pulley form a complete hole. During assembly, two screws are screwed into the two threaded holes of the pulley. As the screws are tightened in the threaded holes on the pulley, the thread pushes the screws toward the small end of the tapered hole on the pulley, while the two light holes on the tapered sleeve are not completely machined through. In this way, when the head of the screw presses against the bottom of the light hole, the force is transmitted to the tapered sleeve, and the tapered sleeve moves toward the small end of the tapered hole of the pulley relative to the pulley. At this time, due to the taper, the tapered sleeve continuously wraps the shaft, and the shaft reacts to the tapered sleeve, and then acts on the pulley. In this way, the pulley, tapered sleeve and shaft are tightly assembled together.
On the contrary, when disassembling, the screw withdrawn from the threaded hole of the pulley is put into the threaded hole on the taper sleeve. During the continuous tightening process, the screw also moves toward the small end of the pulley taper hole. When the screw head contacts the bottom of the pulley light hole, the force is transmitted to the pulley. At this time, the pulley moves toward the small end of the pulley taper hole relative to the taper sleeve. In this way, the pulley and the taper sleeve are separated, and the taper sleeve is also separated from the shaft because of the loss of the restraining force from the pulley taper hole and the elasticity of its own roundness recovery.
When the taper sleeve connects the pulley and the shaft together, an interference fit connection is formed. The inner hole of the taper sleeve is connected to the shaft by a key, and the torque and force are transmitted through the key. Although there is no key connection between the taper sleeve and the pulley, there is positive pressure on the joint surface, and the friction generated can transmit torque and force.
